The name "Sakyamuni Dharma Centre" was blessed by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama who presented a Thangka of Buddha Sakyamuni with His Holiness signature, to His Eminence Khensur Jampa Yeshe Rinpoche in Hunsur, South India on 23rd September 1999. Therefore, the meaning of "Sakyamuni Dharma Centre" (SDC) is to spread Buddha’s teaching and follow the path of The Great Tsongkhapa (Buddha in Wisdom, Compassion and Power in Tibetan Buddhism), to liberate all sentient being in loving kindness internally and externally in our present and future life.
His Eminence Khensur Jampa Yeshe Rinpoche wasrequested by the committee to be Sakyamuni Dharma Centre Spiritual Master. His Eminence was an ex-abbot and a Great Teacher in Wisdom and Compassion in Gaden Shartse Monastery in India. The Centre was officially opened on 2nd January 2000 and was honored to have His Eminence to grace its opening.
SDC is a Tibetan Buddhist Centre dedicated to the spreading of the Lord Buddhateachings in particular the Vajrayana Tradition, by following the teachings propagated by Realised Being The Great Tsongkhapa’s , the Wisdom Buddha.
Sakyamuni Dharma Centre aims to provide an environment conducive for all races to study, practise and receive Dharma teachings, not only for those with an affinity with it, but also to create opportunities for others to connect with the Dharma and generate love, kindness and compassion to help and benefit all sentient beings. |
